Travel | Edinburgh, 2015.

It was Sam and I's two year anniversary last weekend so we decided to book three nights in the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Edinburgh. We had been the year before on a whim and absolutely loved it. We didn't see as much as we liked the first time so just had to come back. It's by far one of my favourite cities in the world. Not to mention the Scottish accent *swoon*. We also managed to have a little tea break in the infamous Elephant House - "the birthplace of Harry Potter" where JK Rowling started writing Harry Potter! It's was so busy but it definitely lived up to its expectations, the views were incredible, you can see Edinburgh castle from the window! Every time I go it always reminds me of my favourite Disney film 'Brave', its such a whimsical wonderful place I could spend hours wandering the little side streets of Edinburgh.

Do you have any favourite cities you love to visit?

Inspiration | Short Hair

images from Pinterest

So for those who don't know, I got my hair cut short at the end of last year. After having crazy long hair for the past few years (see: summer update) it was time for a change. I'm absolutely loving seeing all the celebrities (Kimmy K, Jourdan Dunn, Rosie HW) cutting off their locks for a more shorter style. It definitely makes me feel a lot older and fresher.

Have you changed your hair recently? Do you plan on opting for shorter style?

003 | Purchases

Spontaneous day trips always turn into major shopping trips. I managed to bag these two items for under £100 in the Selfridges sale last month. Work hard, spend harder. (A little bit too hard in my case oops!)

Have you splurged on anything recently?

Life | Happy Chinese New Year!

Kung Hei Fat Choi! Happy Chinese New Year to all my friends and family. When I was younger, I didn't really understand that going to Dim Sum, receiving red packets and being surrounded by family was something so traditional. I suppose because I've been so used to this all my life that it became the norm. Its a time my family come together and mark the start of a brand New Year. I'm so proud of being Chinese and my heritage. I love explaining traditions and my culture to people who are so curious about it. Unfortunately this year as CNY lands on a Thursday we haven't planned anything so here is a picture from Last Years celebration. The little Buddha necklace is a present from my dad from when I was younger and without fail wear it every CNY. Whether you're at work, or with family. I wish you all a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Life: Movie Of The Month

img. Google

So Sam and I regularly watch movies. Whether it be in the cinema or renting on iTunes, its a very rare week if we don't. I think I'm going to do start 'movie of the month' posts and recommend/rate them out of 5. We recently watched Dracula: Untold. Its usually not my sort of movie. Fantasy type films never appealed to me but this was amazing. It was the story of Dracula before he turned into a vampire, his family and the reason he became what he did. If you're into action films, you'll love this. Some of the imagery is incredible. Rating: 4/5.

Have you watched any good films recently?

Travel | Berlin, 2014.

So Sam and I went on a little Winter break in November, to Berlin. It was a little early birthday present to Sam and our first time away since travelling Australia. Its such a lovely city, such a great place with so much culture and character. I've always wanted to go so decided to book it on a whim. We ate too many german sausages (lols), ate some yummy crepes and drank some German beer like true tourists, I definitely would love to go again. I have always had a love for travelling and plan on doing lots more this year.

Are there any place you would love to go this year?

Happy Valentines Day!

Excuse the poor iPhone quality photos. Both Sam and I worked today which meant we gave each other our cards last night and I was surprised with a bunch of roses. Tonight we plan on staying in, watching a film and eating lots of treats.

Hope you've all had a lovely Valentines, for those who are with a special one or with family and friends.

Life | Things I've Learnt Being A Third Year

1. Time is precious.
Your workload becomes ten times as much as first and second year. Utilising your time with assignments and a part time job can be hard. I started the year off doing seven day weeks. Uni. Placement. Work. Repeat. It became so much I had to drop a day of work. Sometimes you can over do it, time is precious both for your education and yourself. Don't over work yourself.

2. What are nights out?
You appreciate a good nights sleep over a night out. After spending all day in the library the sound of a cup of tea and a film in bed couldn't sound any better. At the same time, don't forget about your friends. Seeing your friends can really help you forget about the stress of uni and realise you're not alone in feeling like you're drowning in work.

3. Doing nothing makes you feel guilty.
Taking a day off to do nothing makes you feel so bad. You feel as if you should be working on your dissertation everyday. But sometimes you just have to take a day off. I worked myself so hard the first few months because I felt I wasn't doing enough. Don't. You will drive yourself crazy. Take a day off, do something you enjoy.

4. The library is your best friend.
The library has all the books you could ever need. It's amazing. Why didn't I go sooner? All that money spent on buying books in the first year and they meant nothing. Go to the library.

5. Commitment does pay off.
After all your hard work over the past three years of university starts to pay off. Nothing better than getting good feedback/results back from assignments you've worked your ass on.

By far university has been the best decision I made. I've made so many great memories and friends living in the city. All by myself at the age of 18. It gave me independence and confidence and I learnt that I can do anything I set my mind to. You can too!

Take Two: Blog is back!

So over the past few years, ever since I started blogger back in 2009, I've always loved blogging but my education (A levels, and now my final year of university) has always gotten in the way and I miss it, I absolutely loved blogging. So, I've decided its time I come back. Properly this time, even if it means scheduling posts.  I've decided to set myself a task of at least once a week, and from there I will gradually built it up. So here's to 2015. Let's get blogging.
